Getting into crypto shouldn’t feel like a tech exam. Rampz wants to make your first step as simple as sending a GCash payment.

Rampz wants to make it easier, faster, and safer for everyday people to access crypto. Built in Davao and backed by a bold mission, it's taking on some of the biggest problems in onboarding by offering a new kind of peer-to-peer platform.

For many Filipinos, getting started with crypto still feels like a maze. Between KYC requirements, confusing interfaces, and long wait times, even the most curious users can get turned off. Rampz is here to change that. With an emphasis on ease of use, low fees, and decentralized design, Rampz is rethinking what it means to move from fiat to crypto.

While many platforms offer P2P services, few are as committed to transparency, local accessibility, and smart onboarding. Rampz isn’t just an exchange or a wallet, it’s a gateway designed to bring people on-chain faster, with fewer steps and more confidence.

What is Rampz?

Rampz is a peer-to-peer (P2P) platform that allows users to seamlessly exchange fiat and crypto. In short, it acts as a bridge between traditional finance and decentralized finance. It works similarly to payment gateways like Instapay or Pesonet, but is tailored for the crypto space.

What makes Rampz different is its core focus on user autonomy and simplicity. Users can buy and sell cryptocurrencies directly with one another, with Rampz serving as a decentralized escrow to ensure the safety and transparency of every transaction.

According to founder Erich Liwag, Rampz is a fully on-chain, non-custodial, and decentralized escrow platform built on BASE. Users maintain full control of their funds, and every transaction is verified by smart contracts. The platform currently supports multiple fiat currencies, including PHP, and a wide range of payment methods, including GCash, Maya, and traditional bank transfers.

How Does Rampz Work?

Rampz removes the middlemen and complexity that often discourage new users from trying crypto.

Users simply go to the platform, choose whether to on-ramp (buy crypto with fiat) or off-ramp (sell crypto for fiat), and are automatically matched with a counterparty based on key variables like location, preferred payment method, and token amount.

Unlike traditional P2P platforms where sellers can set arbitrary prices, Rampz uses spot pricing based on CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap. This eliminates price wars and makes the transaction experience more fair and consistent. Buyers pay a fixed 1% transaction fee, while sellers are incentivized with a share of that fee.

All tokens remain in the user’s custody until a match is confirmed. When both parties agree, the crypto is temporarily held in a smart contract-powered escrow account until the transaction is validated. Once confirmed, the funds are released.

Rampz is also building automation into its system. It is in talks with Coins.ph to integrate a payment gateway, which will allow users to skip the manual screenshot verification and enjoy faster, real-time transaction validation.

How Does Rampz Benefit the Ecosystem?

Rampz lowers the barrier to entry into crypto, especially for Filipinos. Instead of having to register on a centralized exchange, go through KYC, and transfer funds manually, users can onboard directly to Web3 with just a few clicks.

This is especially important in emerging markets like the Philippines, where access to traditional financial services can be limited. By offering a simpler and safer way to convert between fiat and crypto, Rampz empowers both seasoned traders and first-time users.

In addition, Rampz addresses a regulatory gray area smartly. It does not hold fiat, and all liquidity comes from users, not the platform. Its role is limited to facilitating trades through smart contract escrows. Since payment methods like GCash and banks already require KYC, Rampz sees no need to duplicate this process for smaller transactions.

Rampz is also planning to evolve beyond P2P. With its decentralized escrow infrastructure, the platform has its eyes on broader applications, such as cross-border payments and supply chain transactions. This positions it as not only a Web3 gateway but also a future infrastructure layer for decentralized finance in Southeast Asia.

But for now, its mission is clear: onboard the next million users to Web3 through a platform built for real people.

By focusing on user experience, regulatory flexibility, and core values of decentralization, Rampz offers more than just crypto access. It offers a new way forward.
