At the MFW Caravan, YGG’s community leader reveals the unexpected path from being a document associate at a BPO company to blockchain.
The crowd buzzed with energy at the Metaversity booth of the YGG Pilipinas MFW Caravan. Students lined up to play games, ask questions, and hear about a new kind of future, one built on gaming, blockchain, and digital opportunity.
In an exclusive interview with The Block and Beyond, Supremo, a community manager whose story resonated deeply, shared his journey and the leap of faith he took to get to where he is today.
From his early days juggling a corporate job and side gigs in Web3, to going full-time with Yield Guild Games, his journey proves that the metaverse isn't just hype, it's a viable career path.
“I was working corporate in a logistics company... But in three months of part-time Web3, I earned more than a full year in that job. That’s when I decided, no turning back.”
From Gamer to Guide: A Grassroots Rise
Supremo didn’t come from a typical academic background. He openly admitted he wasn’t the most engaged student in college. But with an IT degree and a passion for digital tools, he found his way into the Web3 world through community work.
Starting as a participant, he rose through the ranks, first as a Sentinel and then as a Lead Sentinel, until he was tapped to join Metaversity through YGG’s Marshall Program. Today, he manages student liaisons, school partnerships, and educational outreach.
“Hindi ako academic, pero confident ako sa digital. Kaya sa Web3, nakahanap ako ng lugar.”
(I wasn’t academic, but I was confident with digital tools. That’s why I found my place in Web3.)
What is Metaversity?
The Metaversity was developed by YGG Pilipinas, designed to onboard Filipinos, especially youth, into the Web3 ecosystem safely and effectively. It tackles everything from basic blockchain literacy to job readiness for AI and digital work.
“People hear ‘Web3’ and think, ‘scam yan... But through the Metaversity and the Marshall Program, we teach students how to spot red flags and avoid bad actors.”
It’s not just about safety, it’s about skills. Through programs in content creation, community management, and even AI prompting, Metaversity prepares students for real roles in emerging industries.

Web3 Work-Life: Flexible and Fulfilling
Leaving his BPO job wasn’t easy, but the shift has been life-changing. In Web3, Supremo found not just higher pay but also more autonomy.
“Mas hawak ko yung oras ko ngayon. Sa dati kong trabaho, traffic sa umaga, traffic sa gabi. Dito, I work with purpose and I help others get the same chance.”
(I have more control over my time now. Before, I had to deal with traffic in the morning and at night. Now, I work with purpose and I help others get the same chance.)
He now leads a team of Marshalls, most of whom are student graduates of Metaversity programs. Many go on to become game researchers, shoutcasters, marketers, or community builders themselves.
The MFW Caravan: Bringing Opportunity On the Road
The MFW Caravan wasn’t just a showcase, it’s a mission. With stops across Davao, Bicol, and Palawan, the “MFW Caravan” is YGG’s way of reaching students face-to-face.
“We’re giving opportunities to those na naghahanap ng trabaho... And we’re doing it in person, not just online.”
The event combines live gaming, workshops, and mentorship to demystify Web3 and create access.
Supremo’s story is just one among many emerging from the grassroots Web3 movement in the Philippines. But it stands out for its clarity: that you don’t need an elite degree or city connections to thrive in this space. Just commitment, curiosity, and community.
